Welcome to Cruise Muses. I’m Nicky, a self confessed cruise geek and I love a holiday on the high seas!
I’m mum to Finn, my gorgeous little 6 year old sailor and devoted wife to husband Andy who’s very tolerant of my cruising obsession. We live in the hills above Manchester and when not on holiday we run an event management company.
We took our first cruise four years ago on a ‘cruise for people who don’t do cruises’ and I’ve been addicted ever since, spending almost 100 nights at sea so far.
My love of cruises has led to many happy hours of online holiday research, watching hours of YouTube videos and becoming an active member of several cruising Facebook groups. During this fact finding I’ve discovered so many helpful hints and tips about how to get the very best out of a cruise and I’ve really loved reading live blogs from others sharing their holiday advice.
On our most recent cruise, I was inspired to create this blog by the enthusiastic response to a few photos and posts that I shared on Cruise Lovers Facebook Group (a closed group of fabulously friendly cruise fans – well worth joining if you can get an invite) and on the forum pages of cruisecritic.com so I decided to live blog the whole holiday.
I really enjoyed writing a daily cruise diary and fourteen rather detailed posts later and hundreds of lovely likes and comments I’ve created this cruising blog to share tales of our holidays at sea, cruise news and views, hints and tips. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it.
If you have any questions or need any advice about any of the cruises we’ve taken, ports we’ve visited or ships we’ve sailed on then do get in touch, I want this blog to be a place where fans of cruising can comment, enthuse and share. Please feel free to get in touch with me either on twitter @cruisemuses or by emailing nicky@dontpanicprojects.com I’d love to hear from you!
